Chicago Blackhawks Re-Acquire Brandon Pirri

Stan Bowman is the KING of “getting the band back together.”

Like Brandon Saad and Andrew Shaw before him, Stan Bowman has again re-acquired a familiar face on Monday afternoon, sending forward Dylan Sikura to the Golden Knights for forward Brandon Pirri. Pirri was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NHL draft, where he spent seven and a half years between Chicago and Rockford of the AHL.

For Pirri, this is a chance to finally get some NHL minutes after being buried by the scary depth of the Vegas Golden Knights. Pirri appeared in sixteen games last season, scoring eight points; if he can come in and produce 40-50 points next year on an excellent young Blackhawks team, then you have a steal situation. I love this trade for the Hawks, and good on the Golden Knights for getting Pirri to a team where he can play NHL minutes because he belongs in the show.
