Pittsburgh Trades Matt Murray To Ottawa

The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded goaltender Matt Murray to the Ottowa Senators for the 52nd pick overall in the 2020 NHL draft and Jonathan Gruden. Ottawa was looking for their goaltender, and they get former two time Stanley Cup champion Murray at a great value.

Matt Murray will sign an extension in Ottawa and will be their goalie of the future at 26-years-old. Murray has already played in 50 playoff games at his young age and won 26 of them. However, with Tristan Jarry looking to be the better option going forward and the Seattle Kraken coming the Pens needed to make this move. Will Matt Murray be able to bring the Senators to the next level in the near future? We will see.
