One-third of the way through the draft and we have had some surprises and some high-end talent still available.
#6 Anaheim Ducks – Jamie Drysdale (D) Erie, OHL
Drysdale was the number one defensemen on most boards. He plays more of an offensive game and will make a great addition to the Ducks blue line.
#7 New Jersey Devils – Alexander Holtz (RW) Djurgarden, SHL
Holtz is the other top Sweedish guy in this class. One of the best shots in the draft class, he is a pure goal scorer and after a few more years in Sweeden Holtz will slot in nicely into Jersey’s top six.
#8 Buffalo Sabres – Jack Quinn (RW) Ottawa, OHL
Not the guy most Sabres fans would have wanted but Quinn can score just as good as anyone in this draft. He scored 52 goals with the Ottawa 67s this year and should have no problems playing next to Jack Eichel in the upcoming years.
#9 Minnesota Wild – Marco Rossi (C) Ottawa, OHL
Rossi is the guy feeding the puck to the guy that was drafted one slot before him. One of the draft’s smartest players and best playmakers. After the Wild’s center depth dwindled down the past few weeks they beefed it back up with Rossi.
#10 Winnipeg Jets – Cole Perfetti (C) Saginaw, OHL
Perfetti is an easy decision for the Jets and #10 and could be one of the draft’s biggest steals in a few years. Teams are scared because he is only 5-foot-10 but don’t let that fool you this kid can still play with just as good as the rest of the guys drafted before him.
