You can now cross off one of the top running backs from the free-agent list. Aaron Jones is one of the most explosive running backs in the entire NFL. After the season he had last season, he was due a major pay increase. The Packers finished first in the entire NFC last season and Jones was a huge reason for that. Behind the play of NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones kept the backfield in check with some huge runs for Green Bay.
Last season, Jones put up some impressive numbers. He put up 1,104 rushing yards on 201 rushing attempts. He also managed to score nine touchdowns on the ground and two more while receiving a pass.

Aaron Jones would have gotten a lot of interest from a variety of teams if he hit the free agency market. The Packers refused to use their franchise tag on Jones last week in hopes of getting a deal done before it was fair game and they did. Jones is a great runner up the middle and can bounce to the outside extremely well. With Jones in the fold for the next four seasons, the Packers shouldn’t have much trouble running the ball for a long time. Jones deserves this contract and he looks to build off a career year last season.
