Blachowicz VS Adesanya
Israel Adesanya is a Nigerian-born Kickboxer that fights out of New Zealand. He is the current UFC middleweight champion and will headline UFC 259’s card of Blachowicz vs Adesanya. This fight will be one of three title fights on tonight’s stacked card the UFC has put together. Adesanya has never tasted defeat in his professional MMA career leading up to this fight. The 31-year-old Champion will look to leave this bout as the next UFC double champ. However, the Polish power factory Jan Blachowicz is going to be looking to spoil Adesanys light heavyweight debut.
Blachowicz has stopped his last two opponents within the first two rounds of his fights. Both fighter’s last fight came on the UFC 253 card. Also, both were able to come out victorious. Adesanya was able to protect his middleweight belt and Blachowicz was able to come away with the light heavyweight strap that was vacated by Jon Jones. Blachowicz has a 27-8 record and has won eight of his last nine fights. The 38-year-old has all the tools of a true mixed martial artist and his record is living proof of that. Blachowicz has eight knockouts, nine submissions, and ten decision victories to his name.
How Blachowicz Could Win Against Adesanya
Blachowicz will have a pretty large weight advantage coming into this fight. Adesanya is making the jump from the middleweight division and weighing in at 200.5 pounds which is 4.5 pounds less than championship weight for a light heavyweight title fight. Blachowicz has a dangerous ground and submission game. His weight advantage could play a big factor in Blachowicz. being able to take this fight to the ground. Additionally, it could help Jan to tire Adesanya out by forcing him to carry his weight.

The truth of the matter is Blachowicz could win this fight by knockout, submission, or decision. Jan is an extremely well-rounded fighter and is the light heavyweight champion for a reason.
How Adesanya Could Win Against Blachowicz
Israel Adesanya is perfect in his MMA career to date. However, he has never fought in the light heavyweight division. Adesanya has been called skinny and small by opponents he has faced in the middleweight division. Ultimately, all those fighters that said Adesanya was too small were unable to get their hand raised after their fights with “The Last Stylebender.”

Adesanya will need to keep this fight on the feet if he wants to come away with a second title belt. Adesanya is 20-0 with 12 knockouts and five decision victories. Will he still have knockout power in the light heavyweight division? I think it is very possible that he does and could see Adesanya walking off with a knockout but I can’t see it being an early one. Adesanya will be the quicker fighter and I like him winning this one by decision if he does indeed come away victorious. Blachowicz’s only real weakness is dealing with quicker fighters. Although, Adesanya has never had to deal with the power that Blachowicz brings.
