Brad Marchand Scores Lone Shootout Goal To Give Bruins Win Over Devils

Brad Marchand

For the first time in about 50 years, the Bruins win it in a shootout. It was a pretty basic game until the third period came around. Brad Marchand got the Bruins on the board in the first period. Both teams went scoreless in the second. The third period saw Miles Wood tie it mid-way through until Nick Ritchie broke the tie with under seven minutes left. Less than a minute later, Ty Smith scores on one of the craziest bounces of all time in front of Rask.

Overtime was a thrill fest, but we had to settle this in a shootout. The first five shooters were denied until Brad Marchand came down with speed and wristed it through the five-hole on Blackwood to seal the win for Boston.

This was definitely a heart-pounding finish for Boston. If it weren’t for Tuukka standing on his head in overtime, the Bruins would be walking away with just one point. Anyone who thinks Rask shouldn’t be the goalie in Boston should get the fuck out of Boston. Lindsey Vonn’s ex couldn’t get his team back in the game. These two teams square off again on Saturday.
