This entire month of February is not the favorite month for Washington. After a 6-0-3 start in January, Washington finds themselves on a four-game skid. All these games are losses in regulation too. This is something the Capitals didn’t do for the entire month of January. After a slow first period, the Capitals find a way to turn up the heat quickly.
Jakub Vrana is feeling it recently. He scores a goal tonight to make it back-to-back games with a goal. In his stat line so far, he now has five goals on the season. The Capitals need him to keep this up to keep having confidence in this former first-round pick.

Lars Eller is a key factor to the Caps’ success too. He is known for scoring some big-time goals for the Capitals. There was no bigger goal for him than the eventual Stanley Cup winner back in 2018 against Vegas. The Penguins move on to play the Islanders on Thursday. Washington moves on to play Buffalo on Thursday.
