Capitals Overcome Three-Goal Deficit To Roll Past Islanders 6-3

What a night to be a Capitals fan. After a horrendous first period for the Capitals, they had to dig deep to overcome a three-goal deficit. If you are going to explode on offense, you do it in a big way. The Capitals score in bunches. This isn’t anything new here. They came out in the second period and scored five unanswered goals to take a 5-3 lead into the third period. This includes the first-career goal in Washington for long time NHL veteran Zdeno Chara.

As a Bruins fan, this one hurts to watch. Good for Chara. He seems to be thriving in his new position in Washington. He will see some familiar faces on Saturday as the Capitals host the Bruins. The Islanders move on to play the Flyers on Saturday.
