Carson Wentz was the number two draft pick back in 2016. While leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl in 2017, Wentz soon after tore his ACL. Unable to finish that season, Nick Foles ended up taking the starting spot and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl.
Since the ACL tear, life has been rough for Wentz. We saw Wentz get benched earlier this year for Jalen Hurts.
And now the former No. 1 and No. 2 picks from the same 2016 draft, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, have been told they are being traded apart 19 days apart.

With the retirement of Phillip Rivers, the Colts were in heavy need of a quarterback. The Colts finished 10-6 last season and just missed the playoffs. With one of the best offensive lines and a good, young running back, this could set up the Colts to make a run.
Wentz showed everyone how good he was in 2017 behind a good offensive line and with good pieces around him. The Colts are hoping to show that side of him again.
