This is some major news out of Montreal. The team announces that they are firing head coach Claude Julien after eighteen games this season. The Canadiens currently sit with a record of 9-5-4 and are fourth in the North Division. After a hot start by this team, the Canadiens are slipping fast and they feel a change is needed to spark the team.
The Canadiens have appointed Dominique Ducharme interim head coach and have added Alex Burrows to the coaching staff. Claude Julien and Kirk Muller have been relieved of their coaching duties. https://t.co/rhkfrD9m8f

This is a scumbag move from Montreal. The first place you look for a major shakeup is the head coach obviously, but this guy deserves better. He is a heart attack survivor over the last year and still comes back to coach in a pandemic. Instead of looking at the stars of the team to get the team fired up, they cut the cord on this guy only eighteen games into the season.
Montreal is struggling on special teams right now, but that is more on the players than the coach. Montreal has a 3-5-0 record at home and a 6-0-4 record on the road. After back-to-back losses to the last-place Senators, the management has seen enough. Will Claude get another gig this season? Let us know.
