Crosby Set to Play 1000th NHL Game

There is no doubt Sidney Crosby is one of the best hockey players in the world. He always has been. Tonight, he will add another milestone to a very impressive career. He is a three-time Stanley Cup Champion, two-time Conn Smythe winner, and many other award winners. To cap it all off, he will play his 1000th career NHL game tonight against the Islanders.

It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh!

And tonight is important for another reason: Sidney Crosby is set to become the 25th active skater to play in 1,000 NHL games, and the first player in Penguins history to play 1,000 games with the team.

It is mind-blowing that he is the first Penguin to accomplish this feat. With players like Lemieux and Jagr having played for this franchise, that is mind-blowing. Crosby deserves every moment to enjoy tonight. He is a generational talent and is a mentor for any kid who wants to play in the NHL. In his career, he has 468 goals and 808 assists for 1,276 points in 999 games. That is over a point per game in his career.

With all the trade chatter surrounding Crosby these last few weeks, this will lift his spirits up. Enjoy every moment tonight Crosby. You deserve it.
