Fan favourite Dan Hooker is making a move down to featherweight.

Dan Hooker joined the UFC competing as a featherweight in 2014, but in recent years has been battling the best in the world at lightweight. Hooker has won just one fight from his last four, which has resulted in him working the UFC’s Performance Institute to see if he can safely cut down to featherweight.

Hooker dropped some subtle hints in his recent video with The Mac Life during their Pub Talk show.

“Doing a little something-something at the moment. Gotta make your next move your best move. Let’s just say I’m working with the UFC and a fight dietician very closely and I’m doing a little test run and we’ll see. I’ll be able to answer every question on next week’s show.”

This morning Dan Hooker took to Twitter to show his followers that he successfully made the featherweight weight. Therefore, it is likely we see his next bout in the 145lbs division.

Dan Hooker to Featherweight?

With the video, Dan Hooker wrote, “45 look alive.”

The potential move to featherweight has left fans across the internet wondering, who would be the first opponent of Dan Hooker? It’s no question that he would be an exciting addition to the division and an extremely tough matchup for anybody. However, Hookers current teammate and close friend in Alexander Volkanovski is the king of the division. Whether or not they would fight one another is unanswered.

Would you like to see Dan Hooker make a move to the featherweight division? If so, who would welcome him back to his old weight class?
