The former king of the bantamweight division Dominick Cruz is back in action in an exciting matchup for the fans, as he meets Pedro Munhoz on December 11th at UFC 269. The pay-per-view event is yet to have a venue or location locked in. However, reports suggest that the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will be the worthy host of the event.
The former title holder Dominick Cruz is presented with an opportunity to re-climb the ladder and throw down with the elite of the division once again. Dominick Cruz (23-3) is looking to put two consecutive wins together for the first time since 2016, after recording a split decision victory over Casey Kenney at UFC 259. Cruz has cemented himself as one of the all-time greats in the bantamweight division but insists he’s not quite done yet.
Pedro Munhoz (19-6) is hunting for some consistency in his performances as of late. After the prolific win over Cody Garbrandt at UFC 253, the Brazilian has put together just one win in his last four outings which was a unanimous decision victory over Jimmie Rivera. The defeats did occur to the current champion Aljamain Sterling, and the highly-skilled veterans in Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo. Therefore we can cut the thirty-five-year-old some slack.
The fight card on the night consists of a trio of title fights, as the main event sees newly crowned lightweight king Charles Oliveria defend his championship against Dustin Poirier. Double champ, Amanda Nunes, takes the co-main event slot as she strives to defend her bantamweight strap against Julianna Peña. Last but not least, fan favourite Brandon Moreno clashes with flyweight rival Deiveson Figueiredo in an attempt to shock the world once more.
The UFC 269 current lineup includes:
- Charles Oliveria (C) vs. Dustin Poirier.
- Amanda Nunes (C) vs. Julianna Pena.
- Brandon Moreno (C) vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
- Dominick Cruz vs. Pedro Munhoz
