This series is going to be a low-scoring series. The Tampa Bay Lightning are well known for being dominant when it comes to offensive production. Players like Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point are world-class goal scorers and will have a big impact on the series. The Hurricanes have a lot of skill too, but not as much as a team like Tampa Bay. There is a reason why Tampa Bay is the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Certain players like Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow were brought here to be role players in the bottom six. These two players are making a huge impact on this team.
Tampa Bay also has the best goaltender in the world. Andrei Vasilevskiy is a magician when he is in between the pipes. As the playoffs get longer, he gets stronger for his team. He can single-handedly change momentum for his team if they are not producing. There were times where the Florida Panthers could have easily taken over the series, but Vasilevskiy was the difference. This game today was surrounded by some big saves by him and a weak goal from Barclay Goodrow
This game saw a huge display of structured defense on both teams. If the entire series is going to be like today, we are in for a physical and low-scoring series. This game was the definition of a chess match. A lot of simple moves by each side until one side screws up and the other team can take advantage. That is exactly what happens here with Barclay Goodrow and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
This game saw a 1-1 tie head into the third period. Brayden Point scored for the Lightning and Jake Bean scored for the Hurricanes. This game seems like it was destined for overtime. The Hurricanes came into this game having gone to overtime in four straight games to end their series against Nashville. Tampa Bay had other plans though. Barclay Goodrow took a shot that might be the softest goal given up by any goalie, but it gets even worse. The goal happens in the third period and Tampa Bay wins the game because of it. It doesn’t matter how they go in, but it matters that they do. Good for Goodrow and the Lightning for sticking around to steal the game.

Carolina Needs To Find a Way
Carolina showed today that they are going to have a lot of trouble with Andrei Vasilevskiy. This team outplayed Tampa significantly in the first and third periods, but only had one goal in that span. It is very rare you can win a playoff game by scoring one goal. They outshoot Tampa Bay 38-30 in the game and Vasilivskiy was a brick wall. If Carolina has any chance in this series, they need to find a way to beat Vasilivskiy. That and their goalie can’t be giving up any soft goals to Barclay Goodrow.
