In a day full of last minute trades, another big name will have a new home.
The Houston Rockets are trading their star shooting guard Victor Oladipo to the Miami Heat. Oladipo was traded to Houston earlier this season, as a part of the Harden deal. This will be a new fresh for the former All-Star.

Victor Oladipo & the Heat
Victor Oladipo has had a very interesting season so far. Oladipo began the season with the Indiana Pacers, where he has been for the past 3 years. During the James Harden trade, Oladipo was sent to the Houston Rockets. In his 20 games with the Rockets this season, Houston had a 5-15 record. Even though Oladipo was averaging 21.2 points per game during that stretch, the Rockets have been horrible. This will be a new start for both parties. Oladipo has had a great career when healthy. Victor averaged 23.1 points per game in his 2017 season with the Pacers. Along with having a good jump shot, Oladipo’s athleticism separates him from other guards. The Miami Heat are currently sitting at 6th in the Eastern Conference. With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo having good seasons, Oladipo will fit in nicely. If Victor Oladipo can stay healthy, this will be a great trade for the Heat.
This has been a rough season for the Rockets. After trading away James Harden and Victor Oladipo, Houston is a whole new team. John Wall and Christian Wood have been dealing with injury problems throughout the season. With Harden and Oladipo gone, their best healthy players are Eric Gordon and Jae’Sean Tate. That should scare any Houston fan. The Rockets are 12-31 this season and sitting at 14th in the Western Conference. This looks like it is the beginning of a long rebuilding stage.
Houston has a very young team, though. Christian Wood has the potential to be an All-Star. Kevin Porter Jr. is impossible to guard when healthy. A project like this will take a while to develop though, along with acquiring good draft picks. With the downfall of the Rockets and the Texans, Houston is currently a rough place to be a sports fan.
We have all seen the player Victor Oladipo can be. Oladipo was an All-Star in 2017 and 2018. With his shooting skills and his athletic ability, he can fit in with any team. The guard combination of Goran Dragic, Victor Oladipo and Jimmy Butler will be very tough to match up against. As of right now, it looks like the Heat and Victor Oladipo are the winners of this trade.
Miami made it all the way to the NBA Finals last season. Do you think they can do it again? Let us know.
