The Maple Leafs seem to have found their number one goaltender. Freddy Andersen has been on the moving block for quite some time now. The emergence of Jack Campbell is a huge boost for this Maple Leafs team. It is great to know they have a solid option when Freddy’s time in Toronto comes to an end. This is Jack Campbell’s team and no one can deny that right now. He owns the crease and the team supports that choice around him.
Jack Campbell has been sensational all season long. He has yet to lose a hockey game all season long. He gets a huge win in this game to improve his record to 7-0-0. The Leafs gain two huge points over the Jets in the standings to make their lead three points for first place. This is cacked up from the play of Jack Campbell in between the pipes.

Matthews is Back
The deadliest goal scorer in the North Division is back to normal it seems. Auston Matthews has been on a red-hot streak to start the season with his goal-scoring. After getting a minor wrist injury the production seems to have gone way down. In his recent play, he has really turned up the heat. After getting the overtime winner against Edmonton last week, Matthews was back at it again tonight.
Matthews finds a loose puck in front and flips it right by the goaltender. Matthews now has a league-leading 24 goals on the season so far. That is ridiculous. If Matthews never got hurt, he seriously could have been on pace for 50 goals this seaosn. He is great for the game of hockey and a great role model for young players everywhere. If he produces like he is now and Jack Campbell shuts down the crease, the Leafs may make it out of the first round this season. We will wait and see.
Blake Wheeler Goes Down
Part of the Jets’ success over the years has been the play of Blake Wheeler. Wheeler came to this franchise when they were the Atlanta Thrashers in 2011 from Boston. Ever since he has proved why he was such a high draft pick from his draft. He is a very valuable part of this franchise and deserves to wear the “C” on his jersey.
Tonight, he didn’t have the night he wanted. Wheeler went down with an injury and did not return to the game afterward. Usually, when a player doesn’t retr=urn to a game, it means that is probably going to miss some time. Let’s hope it isn’t anything too serious and Wheeler is back on the ice soon.
