The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without backup goaltender Jack Campbell for “weeks” says head coach Sheldon Keefe. Campbell suffered a leg injury against the Calgary Flames. He was able to finish the game and pick up the win for the Leafs. Toronto will use Michael Hutchinson as their backup goalie during his absence. They have also added Joeseph Woll to the taxi squad.

With the condensed and shortened schedule, the backup goalies will serve a larger role this year. Hutchinson is a very capable backup and the Leafs shouldn’t miss a beat in a tough North division. However, it’s a sad day in Toronto as Soup is a fan favorite. Get well soon Jack.
