The Dallas Stars pick up a much-needed win this evening. A heavy offensive performance and a great game between the pipes as Jake Oettinger blanks the Blue Jackets. Oettinger earned career shutout number one this evening. He started his 7th game of the season tonight and helped the Stars to a much-needed win by blanking the Columbus Blue Jackets. He stopped all 21 shots he faced. The final score of the game was 5-0. Oettinger became the youngest goalie in Stars history to record a shutout.

The Stars started the scoring early in the game. Jason Dickinson got his 4th goal of the year less than 3 minutes in the 1st. Joe Pavelski netted his 11th goal of the year on the power play shortly after. The lone goal in the 2nd came from Miro Heiskanen. Roope Hintz scored a beauty in the 3rd and Radek Faksa put the exclamation point on the game in the last minute scoring shorthanded.
With the win, the Stars improve to 7-8-4 and sit 7th in the central division. The win also helped the Stars stop a four-game losing skid. For the Blue Jackets, they now sit at 10-11-5. They are 5th in the Central division only 6 points behind the Blackhawks for the 4th playoff spot.
The next game for the Dallas Stars will come Sunday night when they host the Nashville Predators. The Blue Jackets have the next two days off before they host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
