In an interview with Bleacher Report, Jake Paul recently claimed that he’s the best thing that’s happened to the sport of boxing in a century.

Youtube content creator turned professional boxer Jake Paul has had the world of combat sports on strings since turning to boxing. He has caused a significant uproar within the boxing community and the mixed martial arts fanatics. The former Disney star is currently (4-0) in his boxing career, including wins over former MMA world champions Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley

There’s no doubt that Jake Paul has attracted more eyes to the sport with the huge social media presence. The twenty-four-year-old strongly believes he’s the best thing that’s happened to the sport in a century. Jake also claimed some of the boxing greats would agree with him.

“I’m the Best Thing That’s Happened to Boxing”

“I’m the best thing that’s happened to boxing in a century, period,” Paul said to Bleacher Report. “The legends would agree. The Anthony Joshuas, the Mike Tysons, the Manny Pacquiaos, the Tyson Furys. They’ve all said what I’m doing for boxing is a breath of fresh air. I think that debate started about a year ago – is Jake Paul good for boxing? Haven’t I silenced that, and I don’t think there’s anybody on the other side of the equation who thinks I’m bad for boxing. I’ve now got a foundation where we give boxing gloves to as many kids as possible. We’re going around, renovating boxing gyms, getting the young kids inspired to box. I think this sport needed that revival.”

Jake Paul is scheduled to make the walk between the ropes again on December 18, when facing “The Gypsy King’s” younger sibling, Tommy Fury. The highly anticipated fight would always happen after the two social media stars went back and forth at one another. This sets the fight in December up nicely for fans around the world.
