The Battle of Pennsylvania is always a great game to watch. The last time these two teams played each other, the Penguins exploded to a three goal lead in the first period. The Flyers stormed all the way back to take a one goal lead with just over a minute to go in the game. The Penguins’ mindset in this game should be that they are pissed they blew it and need to avenge that loss, but it wouldn’t be easy. The Penguins would need to rely on their key players to win this game. Evgeni Malkin got them started early, but it was Jared McCann who got the last laugh.

Jared McCann has been a silent player for these Penguins. He has a lot of skill to give this Penguins lineup. He is fitting very well along the wing of Malkin, but today he looked extra great. McCann finds a loose puck to jam it home by Brian Elliott. This would be the eventual game winner as the Penguins come back to beat the Flyers 4-3.

The race for the playoffs in the East Division is crazy. There are five teams that are separated by only five points, but only four teams will make it. The two teams in a race for the final spot are Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. They are now tied in points thanks to this Pittsburgh win in regulation.

Pittsburgh also gets their goals from Evgeni Malkin (5), Bryan Rust (8), and Zach Aston-Reese (4). Philadelphia gets their goals from Travis Konecny (6), Kevin Hayes (8), and Shayne Gostisbehere (3). This race for the playoffs is going to be a tight one. It may go all the way to the final day of the regular season.
