LFA 110 Preview

Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) goes down this Friday and will host a six-fight card. The event will be held in the Grand Hotel Casino & Resort out of Shawnee, Oklahoma. The original main event of the card was a light-heavyweight between top prospect Josh Silveira who was welcoming Jesse Murray to his first LFA fight. The fight, unfortunately, was canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date.

The main event will see a flyweight clash to crown a flyweight interim champion. LFA flyweight veteran Charles Johnson (8-3) will be taking on Japan’s Yuma Horiuchi (8-3). Johnson will be making his fifth LFA appearance, and it will be his first opportunity at LFA gold. After his fight with now t fighter Brandon Royval at LFA 48 in 2018, he took an absence from the MMA cage for a little over two years. In that time, he took a few boxing fights before returning to the cage last February. In that fight which was his last, he beat Karlee Pangilinan by anaconda choke in the second round for LFA 100. His opponent Yuma Horiuchi made his LFA debut last January. Although he ended up losing by split decision, he got back on the board with a win in his last fight, arm baring Donavon Frelow in the second round.

The co-main event will be former UFC fighter Markus Perez (12-5) taking on fellow Brazilian Christiano Frohlich (10-5). Perez was released from the UFC after dropping three straight bouts. This will be his first fight since his departure from the promotion. Now, Perez will be returning to the same promotion that got him to the UFC back in 2017. He beat Ian Heinisch back then to get that opportunity in the UFC. His opponent Christiano Frohlich will be making his second LFA appearance. He’s coming off more than a two-year lay-off. His last fight saw him come up short to Karl Albrektsson at Rizin 15.

Also on the card is middleweight prospect Chibwikem Onyenegecha (7-0). He was last seen in July of 2018 on the contender series. Although he ended up winning, beating Anthony Adams, he didn’t get that UFC contract. Onyenegecha ended up retiring from MMA but will return to action for the first time this Friday. He was originally supposed to take on Hemerson Souza, but now he’s fighting Renato Valente (7-4). Valente last fought way back in 2013 and lost by decision.

Hot middleweight prospect Roland Dunlap (2-0) is returning to the cage fresh off his highlight-reel slam knockout just last April. The product out of Roufusport will take on Joseph Holmes (4-1). After losing his pro debut, Holmes has gone on a tear, winning his next four fights all by way of stoppage. Like Dunlap, this will be the second LFA fight for Holmes.

The younger brother of UFC fighter Kevin Natividad, Christian Natividad (3-0), is back inside the LFA cage as it’s been his home his entire pro career. The exciting bantamweight will be making the move down to flyweight. He will welcome Luis Aguirre (2-2) to the LFA cage.

Opening up the card will be jiu-jitsu standout Jaqueline Amorim (3-0) from Brazil. Some of her accomplishments in BJJ are IBJJF World Champion, IBJJF World No-Gi Champion, CBJJ Brasileiro Champion, and more listed here. Her second LFA appearance will be against Canada’s Megan Owen (1-0).

The full card will kick off this Friday at 9:00 PM EST exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
