Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA 114) goes down this Friday and will host a six-fight card. The event will be held in the Factory in the District out of St. Louis, Missouri. LFA 114 will be the host of two title fights at bantamweight and flyweight. Fighters from the US, Brazil, Russia, and Bosnia will all be fighting a part of the main card.
LFA 114 Main Event
In the main event of LFA 114 its Brazil’s Bruno Souza (9-1) taking on Javier Garcia (7-3). Souza a decedant out of Recife, Pernambuco, Brasil now lives in Los Angeles, California, US. In July 2019 Souza made his LFA debut and has been with them ever since. He’s 4-0 inside the LFA cage and last March he beat Elijah Johns in the LFA 102 main event. On the other side, Javier Garcia made his LFA debut this month. He fought twice within a month. Last April he beat Timothy Teves at LFA 104. After going 1-3 a few years ago now Garcia is on a three-fight win streak.
Fresh of his title win just last month flyweight champion Charles Johnson (9-2) will be putting his title on the line for the first time. To win the title he beat Japan’s Yuma Horiuchi in a close split decision. Johnson took some time off from MMA to box and came back this year to become an MMA champ. St. Louis’s own Johnson has been putting in work at Tiger Muay Thai sharpening his game up for his title defense. His opponent João Camilo (7-4) resides out of Goiania, Goias, Brazil. He’s coming off a win against Ivan Lopez in May for Combate Global. This is only his second LFA appearance. His last was in 2019 in a loss to former LFA champ Victor Altamirano. In the last three years, Camilo has gone win-loss-win-loss.
In the appetizer to the title fights, it’s two big men squaring off against one another. Anthony Garrett (6-3) the 6’5″ behemoth out of Kansas City, Kansas is making his return to the LFA cage. Since losing his LFA debut earlier this year he took a boxing fight which he won in the first round. Jimmy Lawson (2-1) the opponent is a standout wrestler that trains out of American Kickboxing Academy. Lawson wrestled at Penn State and won two national championships and was an All-American. He lost his MMA debut but has since won his last two fights.
Rest of the LFA 114 card
Joseph “Ugly Man” Holmes (4-1) is making his return to the LFA cage since his debut last December. Since losing his pro debut he’s snapped off four straight wins. He fighting Bellator veteran DeWayne Diggs (3-2).
Two young undefeated welterweights will face off in Elmar Umarov (3-0) and Benjamin Bennett (2-0). Umarov born in Russia now trains at St. Charles MMA in St. Louis, Missouri, US. Undefeated as a pro Umarov went 7-0. Bennett was undefeated as a pro he had a very successful amateur career. He went 16-4 and was the 2017 IMMAF Gold medalist.
A two-time IMMAF gold medalist in 2016 and 2017 William Starks (4-2) will be opening up the main card. He’s fighting Irfan Mulabitinović (1-0-1) who is making his pro debut.
