This series is becoming a run-away for the Boston Bruins. It all starts with how the game ended on Wednesday night. With the series tied at one game apiece, the winner of game three would dictate the series. Fittingly enough, the game would be sent to overtime to decide a winner. Speaking from a fan who was at that game, the goal from Craig Smith dictated the series. The Washington Capitals didn’t seem to recover from that goal tonight. Charlie McAvoy and the Bruins just bullied the Capitals in game four.
Alex Ovechkin got caught screaming at his young Russian goalie in Ilya Samsonov after the OT goal on Wednesday night, but that wasn’t all. Ovechkin is a fantastic player, but that moment right there just screamed vulnerability. While the series is still far from over, the Capitals are in a real hole right now. Tonight, their effort is reflected by the final score of the game, but the overall play was even worse.
David Pastrnak is Back
David Pastrnak is one of the best superstars in the NHL. He knows how to score with ease and can make a filthy pass as well. Pastrnak is a known playoff performer and always brings his best to the playoffs. Tonight, he has found his offensive touch once again. The Bruins need him to continue this surge if they want a deep playoff run this year.
Pastrnak got the Bruins started in this game with not a goal, but a great shot that is tipped home by Marchand. Pastrnak has no goals in this series, but tonight that changes. He has one of the best wrist shots in the game, but none have been bigger than the goal he scores tonight. Pasta now has his first goal of the playoffs, which put the Bruins up 2-0 at the time of the third period. This makes him complete the game with two points and a huge win for his team.

Charlie McAvoy Stepping Up
There is no one more important on the Bruins defense than Charlie McAvoy. He can do it all. He can kill penalties, run the power-play, and lead rushes on the five-on-five play. McAvoy will be a finalist for the Norris Trophy someday, but not quite yet. Tonight, he shows just how important he is to this team. It isn’t easy when you have to play against the top-line every night, but McAvoy makes it look easy.
In this game, McAvoy was the center to three of the Bruins four goals in the game. As a result. he gets credited for three assists. This is his first career playoff game with three points in a game. McAvoy is a stud and shouldn’t be taken lightly against any opponent. Bruins take this game by a score of 4-1 and lead the series 3-1. They have a chance to close out the series on Sunday night in Washington.
