Michigan State Upsets #2 Michigan

Michigan State

The last day in the Big 10 regular season did not disappoint. Michigan State has pulled off a major upset.

The #2 Michigan Wolverines were upset by Michigan State 70-64. This is Michigan’s second loss in their last three games as they enter the Big 10 tournament. The Wolverines will remain the 1-seed in the conference tournament but will have a tough road to win it.

Michigan State has been great at home this year. The Spartans are 12-3 in the Breslin Student Events Center and picked up another great win today. Rocket Watts was the highest scorer of the game, finishing with 21 points on 8-16 shooting. Aaron Henry had a great day as well. Henry finished with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Michigan State will be the 9-seed in the Big 10 conference tournament.

Although the Wolverines have already locked up the 1-seed, this is not how they wanted to finish the regular season. Michigan’s Chaundee Brown was their highest scorer, finishing with 13 points off the bench. Michigan saw their star players struggle though. Hunter Dickinson finished with only 12 points on 4-10 shooting. Franz Wagner finished with only 10 points and shot 4-12. When Michigan’s stars struggle, we’ve seen the rest of the squad struggle too.

Michigan will be the slight favorites heading into the Big 10 tournament. With Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, and Ohio State right behind them, be ready for some great games.
