Montreal Ink Joel Edmundson To A 4 Year 14 Million Dollar Deal

After Montreal Canadiens General Manager Marc Bergevin acquired pending UFA Joel Edmundson from the Carolina Hurricanes last week, most people understood that they wouldn’t have moved the draft-pick unless they were sure they could lock the rugged defenseman up to an extension. On Wednesday night, the Habs did just that, signing Edmundson to a 4-year deal worth 14 million dollars (3.5 million dollar AAV).

Edmundson brings an edge to the Canadiens backend and brings a Stanley Cup-winning prowess to the locker room after winning the Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019 and will undoubtedly be a guy the young guys look towards for leadership from now on.
