We have a series now everybody. The Tampa Bay Lightning are the defending champions and rightfully so. They seem to have the perfect balance up and down the lineup. SUperstars like Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman, and Steven Stamkos can change the game in an instant. These players have been huge to help the Lightning off to a hot start in this series. The Florida Panthers let a huge opportunity slip away by losing both home games to start the series. Ryan Lomberg has entered the chat.
This game was absolutely insane. The Lightning looked like they had complete control in this game after a second-period outburst. If they win this game, you can kiss the season goodbye for Florida. If there is one thing that is for certain, you can never count a team out until the final whistle. This is why the NHL playoffs are the best playoffs in sports.
Tampa Explosion in the Second Period
The Florida Panthers got off to an insane start to this game. Even when Barkov went down to an injury, they controlled the play by far. Sam Bennett returned from his one-game suspension by scoring the opening goal for Florida. Radko Gudas would respond to extend the lead to 2-0. You would think that Tampa Bay would be down and out, but you would be wrong.
The Lightning are one of the few teams that can take a 2-0 deficit and turn it into a multi-goal lead in a heartbeat. Tonight, showed that by a landslide. Anthony Cirelli gets the Lightning going early in the second period. Ross Colton and Steven Stamkos would respond afterwards to put the Lightning ahead 3-2. After Alex Wennberg tied the game for Florida, Tampa Bay kept on rolling. Brayden Point and Alex Killorn responded to give the Lightning a 5-3 lead heading into the third period.

Florida’s Huge Third Period
This game seemed to be over after the second period. The home team carried a 5-3 lead into the third period. That seems like an automatic win with a team like Tampa Bay. Florida is a different type of team though. Patric Hornqvist gets a lucky bounce off his foot to cut the lead to 5-4. With just over three minutes left, Gustav Forsling rips one through the five-hole of Vasilevskiy to tie the game 5-5. In an unlikely situation, this game is heading to overtime.
The Battle of Florida is living up to the hype. 🌴

Lomberg Makes This a Series
Overtime is always a stressful time in the playoffs. When you are up against the wall to potentially go down 3-0, the pressure is immaculate. The Florida Panthers seemed to thrive under that pressure. Ryan Lomberg has been all around the news on this series. He is not afraid to get into it with Lightning players and he now has an offensive side. Ryan Lomberg gets behind Victor Hedman and flips a shot past the glove of Vasilevskiy to win game three. This series is now 2-1 in favor of the Lightning and this is thanks to Ryan Lomberg.
