Shattenkirk Scores In OT, Tampa Bay Takes 3-1 Series Lead Over Dallas

Kevin Shattenkirk

Lord Stanley will be in the building tomorrow. After an amazing regulation of back and forth hockey, we needed some extra time to decide this series’ fate. Jamie Benn took a critical penalty to set up a Tampa Bay powerplay. That’s when Kevin Shattenkirk let one fly through a few bodies and by the blocker side of Khudobin to send Tampa Bay to a 3-1 series lead and a chance to close out the final tomorrow night in game five.

What a rip from Shattenkirk here to get it through the screen and by the blocker. This is by far the biggest goal of his NHL career for sure. Brayden Point (two), Yanni Gourde, and Alex Killorn also scored for Tampa Bay. John Klingberg, Joe Pavelski (two), and Corey Perry scored the goals for Dallas. As for the Stars players? How are they handling the loss? Take a look.

Game five is tomorrow night and a lot of factors are in play here. How is Khudobin going to feel on a back-to-back after losing in overtime the night before? How will Dallas respond after a pretty great showing on the offensive side? Is Tampa finally going to silence the critics and hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup for the second time in franchise history? Tomorrow will be fun. We will see you there.
