This game started the way most have this season, with Norm Powell and Kyle Lowry carrying the offensive load for the squad. That was the case in the whole first half actually. The duo combined for 34/7/8 in the first half with Freddy putting up 15 as well.
Toronto led comfortably at the half and came out flying in the 3rd quarter. In the first sequence of the second half, Eddie House was blocked at one end then the Raptors hit transition for a Lowry triple. It was the perfect way to start the half with a nice lead. Houston then went on a massive 15-0 run putting a bit of a scare into the Raps.
Despite that run, the Raptors did exactly what they were supposed to: beat a bad team. The final score was 122-111. Norm Powell had 30, Kyle had a triple-double 20/11/10 and FVV finished with 25.
Hours before the game we learned that Toronto got hit with some COVID-19 restriction violations, as five assistant coaches and NN had to sit out last night due to the close contact rules the NBA has in place. Not only missing an absurd amount of staff, but Pascal Siakm also hit the sidelines for the same reason. Previously, players have missed up to 4 games because of the rule. Let’s hope that isn’t the case with Spicy P.
