Calvin Katter, a Methuen, Massachusetts native, has already risen to the top of the UFC. Kattar has a 22-4 record with 11 KOs, two submissions, and 9 wins via decision. Katter will take on the number one contender in the world and former Featherweight Champion Max Holloway on January 16th. If “The Boston Finisher” can pull out a win versus Holloway, there is no way Uncle Dana will be able to deny him of his shot at the gold belt. Kattar is one of the best boxers in MMA, and his right hand could put Holloway on notice.
Rob Font! My word. Clean, violent, technical. New England Cartel stock continues to go up, up, and up. #UFCVegas17

However, he is not the only member of the New England Cartel making giant waves in the UFC. Last Saturday, Leominster, Massachusetts native Rob Font stopped the number three contender in Marlon Moraes in the first round by TKO. Font has an 18-4 record with eight KOs, four submissions, and six wins via decision. Font has now put himself in the title shot conversation in the Bantamweight division. Petr Yan currently holds the title. Yan will likely defend his belt versus Aljamain Sterling, clearing a path for a Font title shot with just one more win.
A year ago, Katter and Font were not big names, and the road to the top was not easy. Some fighters avoid tough fights and protect their record The New England Cartel, on the other hand, have a bigger the name, the harder they fall mentality. Risking it all on their way to the top. Is The New England Cartel the next group of UFC superstars to blow up? We will see.
