Tuukka Rask, Bruins Blank Sabres 2-0

Tuukka Rask

Tuukka Rask

We all assumed this would happen. The Buffalo Sabres are already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this season. They are not built to last with some of the best teams in the league this season, but they still play hard. They have a very bright future ahead of them, but this season is already a wash. As for the Bruins, this team continues to be red hot. Ever since the trade deadline, this team has found its stride to be a contender for the Stanley Cup. One of the reasons is getting their starting goaltender back, Tuukka Rask.

Tuukka Rask is one of the best goalies in the league, but Bruins fans still treat him like shit. The main reason is that he hasn’t led a team to a Stanley Cup Championship. I am here to tell all you idiots that Tuukka Rask is elite and is the Bruins goaltender right now. I know Jeremy Swayman has shined and the future is bright, but don’t get ahead of yourself. Tuukka Rask is still an elite goaltender and this is his team until he decides to move on. He stopped all 32 shots he faced tonight against the Buffalo Sabres for his first shutout of the season.

Rask Sharp Since Returning

Tuukka Rask has battled his way through multiple injuries this season. He suffered a lower-body injury in a game against the Islanders back on March 25th in the first period. His first start back was against the same Islanders on April 15th and he has been spectacular since. Tonight was game three for Rask since his return. In three games, he has only allowed four goals and has three wins in that time frame.

It blows my mind that people were jumping ship on Tuukka Rask with the play of Jeremy Swayman. People seriously forget how great Tuukka Rask really is when he is healthy. He is the best man for the job when the playoffs come around. I love what Swayman is doing in this league, but Rask gives the team a better chance to win. Rask has been huge for this team since returning. It is clear that he is feeling great and is back for the long haul towards the playoffs. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bruins manage his load a little bit to make sure he is 100% healthy for the playoffs.

Marchand Continues to Dazzle

Brad Marchand is one of the most decorated players in the league. He can agitate the best of players on the ice while making them look foolish on his offensive surge. Marchand has been spectacular for the Bruins all season long. Even when this team was down in the dumps this season, Marchand played his ass off.

Tonight was no different for the Rat Nosed Killer of Boston. He finds a loose puck in the slot off a Mike Reilly pass and slips a backhand right past Dustin Tokarski. The goal would be the first of the night and the game-winner for Boston. This goal is Marchand’s 24th goal of the season. This brings Marchand up to 55 points on the season. Connor Clifton gets his first goal of the season as well for the Bruins.
