Vesey Scores Two Goals, Leafs Beat Oilers 6-1

These Maple Leafs continue to roll through the North Division. We saw this matchup on Monday night. That game saw the Maple Leafs skate away with a 3-0 win in Edmonton. That game also saw forward Alex Chiasson complete a cross-check that will suspend him for this game against Toronto tonight. The forward on the receiving end of that cross-check was Jimmy Vesey.

Tonight, Vesey got his revenge on the Oilers. He scores the first two goals of the game to start the demolition of the Oilers. Can someone get a wellness check on Connor McDavid? He needs some help fast. The Maple Leafs would continue to pour on the goals in that game to eventually win the game by a score of 6-1.

Those two goals now bring Vesey up to four goals on the season. Toronto also got goal-scoring from John Tavares (7), Ilya Mikheyev (3), William Nylander (10), and Zach Hyman (7). Edmonton gets their lone goal from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (9). The shots on goal in this game were in favor of Toronto. They had 32 while Edmonton had 27. It is clear that the Maple Leafs are the best team in this North Division. Can they continue to play this way come playoff time?
