Yegor Sharangovich’s First NHL Goal Helps Devils Beat Bruins In OT

Yegor Sharangovich

The most boring game of the season so far ended today in overtime. The Bruins and Devils both seemed to have some trouble on the offensive side and it showed on the scoreboard. Miles Wood opened the scoring for New Jersey in the first period. Patrice Bergeron scored his first goal as a captain while shorthanded in the second.

Nothing happened after that goal until overtime. The game seemed destined for another shootout. A defensive breakdown for Boston led to a breakaway for rookie Yegor Sharangovich. He buries it fave-hole on Jaroslav Halak to win the game with 1.7 seconds left in overtime.

The Bruins need some major help on offense if they want to compete with teams like Washington and Philadelphia. Boston travels to Long Island on Monday to play the Islanders while New Jersey will play the Rangers on Tuesday.
